About Tiamo Resort
Tiamo is a fresh, new resort located on South Andros Island in the Bahamas. This resort offers true eco-chic bliss in the most naturally stunning private island setting. Tiamo is situated on the sheltered southern cove of South Andros Island in The Bahamas and is accessible only by boat. A stunning triple edge natural infinity pool opens up from the Great Room and is positioned to take full advantage of the natural environment that is at the heart of Tiamo. An intimate organic spa complemented by an airy cool gym exercises both mind and body. Sophisticated service levels combine to offer a laid back atmosphere where attention to detail is paramount. Nowhere is this more evident than in the kitchen where the Michelin-trained chef produces colorful fusion cooking using natural ingredients caught or grown in the surrounding environment.

Andros Island is considered to be the largest unexplored tract of land in the western hemisphere, and at 100 miles long by 40 miles wide it covers an area of roughly 2,300 square miles. Andros sits in the middle of the Great Bahama Bank and is flanked to the east by The Tongue of the Ocean, a deepwater trough that drops to more than five thousand feet, not more than a mile offshore. Along the edge of "the drop" lies the third largest barrier reef in the world. Andros Island itself is riddled with innumerable tidal creeks and inland flats, all home to an incredible diversity of marine life. Tiamo is situated on the southernmost island of Andros on the shore of one of these massive waterways, the South Bight. Its location is located about three miles along the shore of South Bight from Driggís Hill, the northernmost settlement on South Andros. The site on which the resort sits was previous inhabited until the early 1900's and was referred to as the North Quarters. There are remains of foundations and often bits of plates and bottles from the previous inhabitants found around the property.

Ten (10) beach cottages, with stylish interiors and earth-blended amenities, dot the secluded white sandy beach and give privacy, comfort and seclusion. Eco-chic stone and reclaimed glass bathrooms with walk-in showers add real luxury. All the cottage interiors are dressed in pale, restful driftwood shades, sea greens, blues and sumptuous linens. Island Breeze Cottages are completely open with screened in wrap-around decking open to sea-breezes giving you freedom to commune with nature and the ocean, day and night. Cool Cottages are air-conditioned and boast a wet bar and walk-in wardrobe. Pool Cottage (Honeymoon) is a wonderful hideaway for those very special celebrations when extra privacy and space are most welcome. The Pool Cottage has its own Jacuzzi and private decking that leads you right down to the water's edge, making it the perfect spot for dining or simply relaxing in each otherís company, and with nature.

Tiamo's Michelin- trained resident chef and his team will tempt guests with a heady mix of Bahamian and fusion cuisine, including vegetarian and healthy options and fine wines from vineyards of the world. Indoor and outdoor dining offer breathtaking views over the pool to the ocean.
BackGetting There
The Bahamas are reached by a 60 minute flight from US Shores and a 15 minute hop from Nassau, the capital city. There are several ways to access Tiamo. To avoid Nassau, fly into Congo Town where you can clear customs and immigration. There are several airline options from Ft. Lauderdale that offer daily service. There are also daily flights to Nassau from the States and further connections to Congo Town and Mangrove Cay.

Stroll casually right off the beach or plan a day of activities including diving, sailing, snorkeling, kayaking, nature tours, private picnics, Catamaran sailing or fish the waters right off the beach. Other activities available include an intimate organic spa complimented by an airy cool gym which exercises both mind and body.

BackGeneral
Please be sure to bring all the cash you need when traveling to South Andros as there are no cash machines and only limited banking hours. The trade winds that blow almost continually throughout the Bahamas give the Islands a warm agreeable climate, which varies little year round. The most refreshing time is November through May when the temperature averages 70-80F degrees. The rest of the year is a bit warmer with temperatures between 80-95F degrees. Casual summer wear can be worn during the day any time of the year; but be sure to bring a jacket or sweater for cooler evenings. Also be sure to bring a rain jacket and or umbrella in the event of a rain shower.

Rates are all-inclusive of all meals, soft drinks and non-fishing activities, kayaking, snorkeling trips, picnics, sailing and transfers from Mangrove Cay or Congo Town airports, internet access in the library and use of the gym. Room rate does not include alcoholic drinks, government taxes and gratuities; a 25% deposit is required on booking and the balance due 60 days before arrival. Rates range from $895-$1200, per night, per cottage, depending on which cottage is selected.
